Limitations
One variable.
If both prices and advertising change, another method is needed.
Real boundaries.
The price can't be negative, and the number of customers can be fractional in the solution.
A test of meaning.
The mathematically found value does not yet guarantee demand.

Task function
A number that maximizes or minimizes: profit, time, expense or error.
Variables
Cells that are allowed to change. For the number of people and objects, you often need a whole non-negative value.
Limitations
The budget, capacity, time and minimum result are assigned to the area allowed, not verified after the decision.
Differential:
The setting of the parameter changes one value to a given result. Optimisation is looking for a better value for one or more variables with limitations and requires checking whether the plan found is achievable.
