Coding/decoding
Code tables (ASCII, Unicode), binary text, image, and sound coding are all GEF/OPFs with interactive OGE/EGE assignments.
In this chapter, you will learn how a computer presents any information in a binary form, get to know the code tables, and learn how to solve the problems of the EEG and the EGE for coding.

Key formulas
Three formulas to know by heart
Capability of the alphabet
N = 2
i
N is the power of the alphabet, i is the weight of the symbol (bit)
Interpretation of text
I = K × i
K is the number of symbols, i is the weight of the symbol
Images
I = x × y × i
x,y is the size, i is the depth of the color
📊
Interactive graph I = K × i

Quick Start: Examples
Example 1: Translating a number into a binary system
Objective:
Move the number 42 to the binary system.
Решение:
42 / 2 = 21 (ост. 0)
21 / 2 = 10 (ост. 1)
10 / 2 = 5 (ост. 0)
5 / 2 = 2 (ост. 1)
2 / 2 = 1 (ост. 0)
1 / 2 = 0 (ост. 1)

Example 2: Full text in CP1251
Objective:
Text of 500 characters in CP1251.
Решение:
CP1251: 1 символ = 1 байт
500 × 1 =
500 байт
